SONCAP is Standards Organization of Nigeria Conformity Assessment
Program for short。SONCAP is a new
policy which actualized by Nigeria government for exanimate and control
disqualification and insecurity products export into their country. SONCAP has
carried out on December 1, 2005 officially.
SONCAP including two phase. The first phase is “Product Certification”, which only apply a certain special type restricted products which first export to Nigeria. The second phase is SONCAP which apply to certain cargo before shipment. Above two certifications all can complete in SON Country Office.
There are two ways for exporters to get SONCAP certificate:
The first way is substantiated declaration, which suitable in those exporters whose products can completely accord with standard laws and regulations of Nigeria.
The second way is Unsubstantiated Declaration, which suitable in those exports who can not provide substantiating test report.
